A Personal Message from Maureen and David
Investor Relations is ruling Boston this week and we couldn’t be prouder to have a global brain trust in IR here in the town we call home. As long-time members, supporters, and leaders of the National Investor Relations Institute, we are delighted to welcome NIRI’s 2022 Annual Conference to Boston. We are honored to be a sponsor of this year’s conference and involved as participants and speakers.
It is hard to imagine a richer place to hone IR skills. It is possible that Boston has seen, per capita, more startups, IPOs, mergers, acquisitions, crises, earnings blow outs and disappointments than any other region.
How so? Consider Boston’s famous Rt 495 tech corridor, the biotech industry, the robotics industry, and environmental endeavors leveraging clean energy. Today, Boston is not only the destination for the cutting edge, we are the destination of choice for some of the deepest pockets in the country with Fidelity, State Street, Wellington, Putnam and more located right here on our legendary, curvy, cow path roads.
Our team at Sharon Merrill has grown up with all this action and we have been a leading force in the IR community for more than 35 years.
Today more than ever IR is experiencing unprecedented levels of innovation and change. Virtual investor days, annual meetings and one-on-one meetings, ESG communications, and the advent of video earnings calls require new learnings and skill growth for most companies. And it’s exciting to see IR leading the way.
Investor Relations is unquestionably at the table at the highest levels of public companies now. Sharon Merrill is working hand-in-hand with IROs, CFOs and CEOs to guide leadership and boards on their public company journey. We are partnering with our clients on strategic storytelling, ESG communications, IPOs, investor days, investor presentation delivery, board and management IR training, and more.
During the past few years, we at Sharon Merrill have experienced tremendous growth, both in terms of the number of clients we work with, as well as our team at our Boston headquarters and at our other offices on the East Coast and in the Midwest. Being an innovative firm that thrives on change during a revolutionary time in the field of IR has served us well.
If you will be in Boston, please let us know. We’d love to either reconnect or introduce ourselves. Let us treat you to some of Boston’s delicacies. (We know where to get the best seafood!).
And of course, if you know of a company looking for strategic investor relations support, or an IR practitioner looking to turbocharge their career with an exciting position at a leading IR firm, let us know. We’d love to talk.
And once again, to all of you joining us at the NIRI 2022 Annual Conference, welcome to Boston and the epicenter of IR!
Best,
Maureen and David
